Introduction:
Hey everyone! My name is Teejay and I am from Edmonton, Alberta! I am currently attending the local university and one year I hope to study abroad. When I am not studying, I work with my family at a restaurant that my parents own. I have two puppies, a bichon maltese named Jackie and a bichon shitzhu named Sushi and I love them both. They only sleep in my room which makes me feel special. I love to read and I also do a lot of deep thinking, usually about the things in life that have no answers and multiple meanings. I cannot sit still for too long therefore I am very easily bored. The only time I can sit on my butt for more than an hour is if I am watching a movie. Good reviews or bad, I will watch any movie. There is even a box full of ticket stubs on my desk. There is not a lot that I do not like. However, I dislike attention and talking about myself so this is the end of my “get to know me” talk.
Why I want to represent DSK:
I have never been more than just a class representative and since I like to try new things, I thought that this would be a fun experience. I was browsing youtube with my sister one day when we came across a cute lady who does hair and makeup tutorials, bubzbeauty. As we were looking through her videos, we came across one that mentioned DSKjewelry. She also mentioned several times that she was wearing her necklace. I thought it was a professional brand so I looked it up, found the blog site and started going through the posts. There were some pieces that caught my eye like the Pegasus and the Rocker necklaces. After a few months of constantly going back to the site and staring at the necklaces I finally decided to order them. After a week, which was surprisingly fast, they arrived. I wear my Pegasus all the time and my friends have all commented on it. Many comments are about the unique shape of the Pegasus crystal and the great color combination. Coincidentally, that is why I bought the Pegasus. So I love the uniqueness of the DSK line and the colors are amazingly beautiful. I’m not sure why I deserve to be the next model, in fact I am entering the contest on a whim. If there is a reason, I would say it is because buying the jewellery was different for me. I’m not one to wear necklaces and such unless I am attending a fancy event. Now, I wear my Pegasus with me everywhere I go, even if I’m just going to work. I love to show it off because of its uniqueness. Which I guess would be another reason. DSK represents a unique side of me.

a. What’s your name? Nickname?
My name is Thuy but my friends call me Teejay/Tj. The “j” stands for Juliette which is the English name my mom gave me =D
b. How old are you?
I am 18 years old.
c. When’s your birthday?
October 10.
d. How tall are you?
I am 5 ft 4. My friends consider this height to be too short but I love my height.
e. What is your career? If you’re a student, what is your major?
I am a student (at the University of Alberta) and am majoring in immunology (BSc) plus minoring in philosophy, hence my love to lose myself in thought and find deeper meaning in small things. I hope to get into medicine one day :)
f. Are you single? Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Married? Children? It’s Complicated?
Currently, there is a boy but as all crushes go, it’s pretty complicated ;)
g. Where are you from? Birth place? Current location?
I was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta and will stay here until I finish my degree. Hopefully I get into a medical school someplace other than Edmonton so I can expand my horizons a bit.
h. Do have siblings?
I have one older sister and one younger brother.
i. What’s your ethnicity?
I am half Chinese and half Vietnamese, although a lot of people think that I am Filipino because of my darker skin (which I got from my dad).
j. What’s your favorite food?
Currently, my favourite food would be a tie between pho and bun bo hue. My mom makes the best! <3
k. What are 5 words that describe you? Be Creative!

l. What would the title of your autobiography be?
“Living Outside the Box”
m. What would you do if a vending machine stole your money?
I would be pretty disappointed and every time I pass it in the future, I would stare it down for a few seconds hehe =p
n. Do you have a tattoo? If so, where?! If no, would you get a tattoo?
I have one tattoo that runs along the right side of my ribs that says “Live like we’re alive” I plan on expanding it by using a phoenix.
My tattoo serves as a constant reminder to not only live life to the fullest but to live outside the box, take risks and never (or at least rarely) fear the consequences. A phoenix fits that life style because it is not afraid to take risks since no matter what happens, it will rise from the ashes of its mistakes, learn, and grow.
o. How many piercings do you have?
I have five. One on each of the lobes of my ears, one helix (cartilage), a conch, and my naval.
p. What your favorite feature? What’s your least favorite?
I like my small eyes. Everyone in my family has pretty big eyes except for me so it makes me different. I would say the bags under my eyes. No matter how much I sleep, I always appear tired.
q. How many languages can you speak, and which ones?
I can speak two languages: English and Vietnamese.
r. What’s your zodiac sign?
According to the Chinese Zodiac, I am a sheep/goat.
s. What’s your dream job?
My ultimate dream job is to become a cardiologist. Ideally, I would like to work for five years and every sixth year, I would volunteer with Doctors Without Borders.
t. What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I like to sleep, watch movies with friends, go to the park, or sit on my roof to watch the sun set and the stars.
u. Do you have any phobias?
I don’t know if it is a real phobia but I am afraid of absolute certainty. I don’t like to plan everything and spontaneity is what makes a day of absolutely nothing into something fun. If something doesn’t go according to plan, I don’t really care as long as it doesn’t result in anything bad
v. What’s your favorite pick up line?
I don’t think I have a pick up line… I don’t usually hit on someone I don’t know so when I go out, I stick with my group =3 But if I poke you to death, that usually means I’m flirting heh
w. What’s your ring tone?
Usually, my phone is on silent/vibrate but when I do need to be able to hear my phone, I have Ghosts and Stuff by Deadmau5.
x. What’s your favorite song?
Currently, and this is no coincidence, my favourite song is Live Like We’re Alive by Nevertheless =D
y. What makes you laugh?
Anything. I love to laugh and giggle.
