Introduction:
My name is Michelle, but my friends prefer to call me Lili since it’s shorter to say. I will be a second year at the University of Virginia this upcoming semester. I consider myself a huge nerd and nature freak. o.O During my spare time, I’d rather stay home, read, and draw than venture outside, unless, of course, it’s to go hiking or camping. I have a rather contradictory personality, in which my actions sometimes conflict with my beliefs or vice versa; as a result, I’m predictably unpredictable. [; I’m a pessimistic optimist and an idealistic realist. I always hope for the best, but more often than not, I undermine myself. Despite the fact, I wouldn’t change the way I am. No matter the circumstances, I always remain true to myself. [: I’m proud of how individualistic I am. I don’t shy away from challenges or daring situations. I’m quirky and bold, I have my own sense of style. I’m one of those people who makes a fashion statement. I’m confident enough to pair unexpected patterns and articles of clothing together and make it work. I love wearing clothing with frilly, lacy accents. I especially love pairing skinny jeans with high heels because I love being as tall as my guy friends. On sunny days, I’m the one who carries a parasol in order to avoid the sunlight. On rainy days, I’m the person who wears outlandishly bright, exuberant colors with my giant rainbow-colored umbrella, making me stand out from the monochromatic, dreary rainwear (with the same plaid/checkered/argyle print) that everyone seems to wear. Although I appear outspoken at times, I am quite reserved. Unless I’m truly passionate about a certain topic, I prefer to keep my thoughts and opinions to myself. For that reason, I do have a blog. Even though I may not be a blogger, I still love to meet people from all over the world. I actually started by writing reviews for bands on MySpace. I created a page to help promote bands that I thought had potential. Bands requested to be my friend so I could offer input on their music. As a result, I know bands throughout the world, in some places I never thought there would be. It just proves that music is another form of language. [: From this experience, I discovered my love for language because I realized the importance of intercultural awareness. I believe it is essential to understand other cultures because I value diversity and open-mindedness. Therefore, I am currently teaching myself how to speak French and Norsk (Norwegian), even though I already speak five languages. ^.^ I aspire to learn as many languages as I can so I may travel around the world one day uninhibited. :D
Why I want to represent DSK:
I stumbled across DSK Jewelry while I was watching one of Bubbi’s videos. She suggested that her subscribers check out the DSK line so I did. After browsing through all the cute pieces, I immediately fell in love. Ever since then, I return to the blog on a daily basis to check out what’s in stock. I love everything about DSK, that’s a fact, not an exaggeration. I like that the jewelry is available in a wide range of colors. I also adore that many of the pieces contain heart pendants because I believe that hearts are a profound symbol of love and devotion. For that reason, I particularly enjoy knowing the inspirations behind some of the pieces because they’re heart-warming and motivational. I am always impressed by the quality of the pieces. I especially admire that each piece is handcrafted with care and sincerity because it makes each piece that much more special. Not only that but I love the fact that each piece of jewelry is wrapped beautifully into decorative packaging instead of being stuffed into a danky box. DSK is not only about the jewelry, it is about the people, the relationships. I appreciate the fact that the founder, Stephanie takes the time to read all of the responses from her followers and answer any questions they might have. She actually talks to her followers and encourages them to blog as well. It is like another family. I think it is wonderful that she is willing to make personal pieces for someone if he or she requests them for a special event or occasion. In addition to that, she takes her reader’s ideas into consideration when she’s making her new pieces. I would like to represent DSK Jewelry because I am not the average girl. I tend to stand apart from the crowd. I represent those girls who are not afraid to undertake new endeavors. I don’t care what people think about me as long as I’m striving to fulfill my aspirations. I won’t let others discourage me from pursuing my dreams. I’m not afraid of defending my beliefs or principles. I represent the girls who don’t necessarily have that classic beauty but a unique beauty of their own. Like each piece of DSK jewelry, every girl is different and irreplaceable. The pieces are versatile, elegant, and chic, so women everywhere can wear it. Women wear DSK Jewelry not only to accessorize their outfit but to express themselves. I believe as a model, I should not only represent beauty but also intelligence. I want to showcase the product as well as my personality and character without having to compromise either. I believe DSK Jewelry keeps the integrity of the person without having to sacrifice her individuality. Until now, I’ve refused to be a model. I’ve been uncertain about the prospect of modeling because I don’t want to a mannequin, I want to be a person with a cause. I am passionate about finding a cure for cancer, conserving the environment, saving the wildlife, protecting animal rights, advocating gay rights, and helping impoverished countries. As a model, I can address these issues and work in conjunction with more organizations like the Seattle Humane Society. I have experience in volunteering at service events and organizations like Relay for Life, the Virginia Beach SPCA, Red Cross, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Samaritan House, and STOP Hunger Now. Furthermore, I believe I deserve to be the next DSK Jewelry Model because I am trustworthy, I refuse to disappoint others. I am creative, I can contribute ideas, if needed. (: I am conscientious about my duty and loyalty to DSK if I am chosen as a model, I won’t tarnish its name or reputation. Besides, I simply love DSK Jewelry. :D I always wear at least one of the pieces I own. I would truly be honored if I am chosen as the next DSK Jewelry Model.
